Boosting Self-Image

There’s a lot you can accomplish by having a positive self-image. Your confidence will increase which means that you can deal with more situations. People will respond to your increased self-image in a positive way as well.

The first step to increasing your self-image is to know yourself. You need to understand your capabilities and skills. You also want to determine weaknesses to improve upon. But don’t beat yourself up too much when identifying these. Weaknesses can easily be turned into strengths if you work at them long enough.

Determine what aspects about you are important to change and concentrate on those. There may be aspects that you are not that concerned with and won’t have much effect on your self-image. Ignore those. You can’t and shouldn’t change every aspect of yourself. Sometimes, you should just accept those aspects of your personality and move on.

Maintaining a Journal Keeps Me on Track Towards My Objectives

growth mindset strategy Jan 06, 2019

Maintaining a journal keeps me on track towards my objectives.

Milestones are encouraging. I include them in a journal to keep me moving forward towards my goals. Seeing each small win pushes me to go after the next one.

Each workday is productive because I am guided by a list. Before I begin working, I plot out the steps to achieve productivity. This approach allows me to focus on the important things and block out the distractions.

Although unexpected tasks sometimes come my way, I avoid losing focus. I adjust my goals for the day and make room for the new responsibilities.

Larger life goals are easier to achieve when I set small milestones along the way. Each week, I allocate time to achieving one of these smaller milestones and I stick to the allocations.

When I focus on one small task at a time, I avoid feeling overwhelmed by how much there is to do. I am gentle with myself by setting milestones.

Overall wellness is important as I go after goals. I make time each day to...

How Journaling Can Benefit Your Self-Development

growth mindset strategy Jan 04, 2019

Journaling is a fantastic way to supercharge your self-development efforts. When your thoughts are still in your mind, they can be challenging to analyze objectively.

Getting things out of your head and down on paper provides a totally different perspective.

Thinking tends to be very sequential; one thought leads to the next, which leads to the next. We get caught in a linear track and miss out on the bird's-eye view of the whole thought process. With journaling, you gain the ability to see things from a third-person view versus a first-person view.

Three Great Benefits of Journaling

1. Solve complex challenges. When you write the issue at hand down on paper, the solution for a complex challenge often suddenly becomes obvious. The ability to re-examine the issue from a third-person perspective can make all the difference.

2. Increase clarity. One of the best times to lean on your journal is when you're filled with uncertainty about what action to take. Many things become...

Attain Greater Self-Awareness Through Journaling

growth mindset strategy Jan 03, 2019

Journaling is a great way to learn about yourself. Seeing things on paper is a little different than just thinking about them. Reviewing your day and your thoughts can be a powerful tool for self-awareness and personal growth.

You can learn something from each day, but only if you have the intention of doing so. Journaling provides the insight to make positive changes to yourself and your life.

Use these journaling techniques to learn more about yourself and enhance your rate of personal development:

1. Make journaling a habit. Write in your journal daily to get the maximum effect. Journaling less frequently will allow you to be lazy in living your life. When you journal each day, you’ll feel compelled to have something to write about. Set aside 15-30 minutes each evening and make journaling a habit.

2. Review your day. Begin each journal entry by reviewing your day. What happened? Record anything you might want to remember in the future, whether it’s a day or 50...
